We increasingly see them attached to Danish containers: the yellow TAG6 labels. What exactly are they, and how are they used? We explain everything about them and how our tool, ColliTracker, efficiently integrates these tags into your business.
What is a TAG6 label?
A TAG6 label is a label attached to a Danish container, easily recognizable by its yellow color. As of January 6, 2025, this label has been officially adopted. The TAG6 label is equipped with both an RFID chip (a unique electronic tag with Radio Frequency Identification) and a QR code (Quick Response). Using RFID and QR technology, data can be exchanged with packaging registration systems such as ColliTracker and CC Pool systems.

Why should a CC TAG6 label be used?
Many companies do not own their own Danish containers. That is why CC Pool companies exist. CC Pool companies manage Danish containers and also maintain the carts. This ensures that the Danish containers meet a certain quality standard before being issued to businesses. The issued cart is already equipped with a TAG6 label, ensuring compliance with the established quality requirements.
The Danish container can also be returned to a CC Pool company, provided it is equipped with the yellow TAG6 label. Companies utilize a CC Pool company because more carts are needed during peak periods than usual. A CC Pool company can supply the carts, including a TAG6 label. A major advantage of carts with this essential tag is that they can be returned to various CC Pool companies.
Is a TAG6 label always required on a Danish container?
No, it is not always necessary to have a TAG6 label attached to a Danish container. If you manage your own carts (essentially operating your own CC Pool), you are free to supply them to customers and retrieve them yourself. These carts, however, cannot be returned to a CC Pool company.
A Danish container can only be returned to a CC Pool company if it is equipped with a CC TAG6 label.
The use of TAG labels
Tag labels are used across various sectors for different applications. In this article, we focus exclusively on the TAG6 label. This unique label is widely used in the floriculture sector. The ultimate goal is to always have an overview of where your goods and carts are. By tagging your products, pallets, carts, or containers, you can literally track them. This ensures that all shipments are easily identifiable, and you are always informed about the shipping status or specific location of consignments. It’s especially useful, for instance, at the Flower Auction!
Packaging registration systems like ColliTracker are highly compatible with various tags and can be utilized across multiple sectors.
Inspection of the TAG6 labels
Can the authenticity of a TAG6 label be verified? The answer is: yes. In fact, we strongly advise you to always be vigilant for potential counterfeit labels that may circulate. Therefore, it is recommended to thoroughly check the authenticity of TAG6 labels. This can be done in various ways using the following techniques:
- RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). RFID scanners can be used for this purpose. The advantage is that you can scan the yellow TAG6 label remotely. This allows you to easily and quickly verify all your labels.
- QR-Code (Quick Response). There are apps available to read the QR code on a label. A potential drawback is that you need to position the QR code within the view of your phone’s camera for the app to read it. This can sometimes be a precise task. Another drawback is that the labels are often mounted low on the Danish containers. This makes scanning the QR code quite challenging in practice at times.
By reading the TAG6 label, its authenticity can be determined. The app indicates whether the TAG6 is registered in the database pool.
